Samuel Afriyie was recognized for outstanding academic achievement as a member of the Chi Alpha Epsilon national honor society. During a ceremony on Feb. 5, 21 students were inducted into SUNY Oneonta's Beta Eta Chapter of Chi Alpha Epsilon, and eight honor society members received special recognition.

SUNY Oneonta senior Nallely Ayala of Pine Plains, NY, is spending the spring semester in Barcelona, Spain, where she will complete an internship at the Study Centre for Peace J.M. Delas. Ayala, a dual major in International Studies and Spanish, is the first SUNY Oneonta student to pursue an internship through the college's new international internship program, which offers opportunities in 12 major cities around the world in partnership with the Academic Internship Council and Connect-123.

An exhibition of digital photography by SUNY Oneonta senior Rachel Gullotta is on display at the Martin-Mullen Gallery Exhibition Hall in the college's Fine Arts Center. Titled "The Four Seasons and the Night," the solo show features more than 40 11- by 14-inch photographs taken during the past three years by Gullotta, a Computer Art and Communication Studies major from Tully, NY.

Work by several SUNY Oneonta students is featured in "Under the Glaze," an exhibition of ceramics in the college's Project Space Gallery.

More than 40 SUNY Oneonta students performed in a Musical Theatre Gala concert featuring the music of Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber on Friday, Jan. 30, at Goodrich Theater on the SUNY Oneonta campus.

Four SUNY Oneonta seniors have been selected to participate in the 2015 Model New York State Senate Session Project, an annual Latino/Hispanic heritage leadership development program organized by the City University of New York (CUNY) in collaboration with the Puerto Rican/Hispanic Task Force of the New York State Legislature and the State University of New York (SUNY).
