More than 300 students met requirements for graduation from SUNY Oneonta following the Fall 2016 semester. Graduates were honored at a December recognition ceremony hosted by College President Nancy Kleniewski and held in the Dewar Arena of the Alumni Field House. Fourteen SUNY Oneonta music industry students got a look at the latest products in the music industry during the 2017 National Music Merchants Association Show in Anaheim, Calif., from Jan. 19-22. The annual global music products tradeshow featured 1,800 exhibits and more than 6,000 brands of sound, lighting and recording gear; instruments; sheet music; gadgets and more.

Nine SUNY Oneonta alumni have co-authored an article describing five new species of tapeworms in Folia Parasitologica, a peer-reviewed, open-access, international journal covering all branches of animal parasitology. The co-authors, all of whom were undergraduate biology majors at SUNY Oneonta, collaborated with Associate Professor of Biology Florian Reyda on the research over a period of six years.

A total of 200 SUNY Oneonta students earned Provost's List honors for the fall 2016 semester. To qualify for the Provost's List, a student must earn a perfect 4.0 grade-point average while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.

A total of 1,515 SUNY Oneonta students earned Dean's List honors for the fall 2016 semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.
