Wilaysha Evans Presents Research at American Chemical Society National Meeting

2017 May 8

Wilaysha Evans of the Bronx, NY, gave a poster presentation at the 253rd American Chemical Society National Meeting & Exposition from April 2-6 in San Francisco.

Evans, a Biochemistry major, presented a poster titled "Greener synthesis of novel fluorescent, thermochromic and photochromic diimines and imines" and a second poster titled, "Synthesis of amido(thio)urea based rhenium (I) tricarbonyl complexes." Evans is a member of Dr. Jacqueline Bennett's undergraduate student research group at SUNY Oneonta.

"I think the best part of my experience was the spirit of continual and shared learning at the conference," said Evans. "I appreciated the constructive conversations I had with people curious about my research, the constructive conversations I had with people who did research I was curious about, and the opportunities to sit in at several research talks and be exposed to different kinds of research techniques."
