Valerie Joern Inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma

Valerie Joern of Poughkeepsie, NY, was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society on April 6. Joern, who is majoring in Early Childhood/Chilhood Ed, is a member of the Tennis team at SUNY Oneonta.

Joern was one of 35 scholar-athletes inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma during a luncheon held in celebration of National Student Athlete Day and NCAA Division III Week. To qualify for induction into Chi Alpha Sigma, a student must have achieved at least junior standing with a cumulative 3.4 grade point average while earning a varsity letter in an NCAA intercollegiate sport. Each student athlete must also be of good moral character and have the endorsement of both the head coach of his or her sport and the chapter president.
