Thomas Marrone named to ECWC All-Academic Team

Thomas Marrone of Pleasantville has been named to the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference All-Academic Team.

To be eligible, wrestlers must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher (through the last eligible grading period of the current academic year) while completing an entire season as a member of a conference institution's wrestling team. Freshmen and transfers that have been enrolled full-time for at least one semester are eligible to receive this honor.

Marino (Biology), Marrone (Education) and Scheer (Geology) are being honored for a second straight year. Marino won 10 matches this season, Scheer collected a pair of victories while Marrone won 27 matches overall.

Messina (Psychology) won 15 matches this winter, Murphy (Environmental Science) picked up 24 wins and Peterson (Biology) won two matches as a rookie.

The Red Dragons finished its 2016-17 campaign with an overall dual-meet record of 12-6-1.
