Sharon Wohl earns National Academic Honor

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association has announced its Division III National Academic Team Awards for the Fall 2014 season and SUNY Oneonta was one of 124 schools to earn team honors. The Red Dragons also had six individuals earn recognition as part of the 2014 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad for their work in the classroom.

Sharon Wohl, a Childhood and Family Studies major from East Northport, NY was one of the six individuals to be named to the National Academic Squad for her excellence in the classroom.

The Red Dragons finished 11-8 last fall and played in the SUNYAC tournament. Oneonta was eligible for the National Academic Team Award by compiling a combined team grade point average of greater than a 3.0 for the fall semester. This is the tenth time since 2004 and the ninth consecutive year the team has earned national honors.

A liberal arts institution with a strong focus on undergraduate research, SUNY Oneonta continually gains recognition for delivering excellence and value. The college has been included on Kiplinger's list of "100 Best Values in Public Colleges" and Kiplinger's list of "10 Best Public Colleges With Lowest Debt at Graduation." The College is also included on U.S. News and World Report list of the best public institutions in the region. The college enrolls 6,000 students in its 70 undergraduate majors and 15 graduate programs.
