Roberto Ventura honored by the SUNYAC

The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced that SUNY Oneonta freshman Roberto Ventura of Brentwood has been selected as the Offensive Player of the Week. Ventura helped lead the Red Dragons to a 2-0 record last week.

Ventura scored a pair of goals against Geneseo including the game-winner. Ventura, who is leading the Red Dragons in scoring with eight goals as a rookie, scored at least one goal in his first seven collegiate games. The seven-game scoring streak is tied for the second longest in program history.

Oneonta is currently 7-1-1 overall and 3-1 in the SUNYAC. The Red Dragons are currently ranked No. 14 nationally in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division III poll.

The Red Dragons are next in action this weekend at home when they host both Plattsburgh and Potsdam.
