Roberto Ventura competes for SUNY Oneonta men's soccer team

Roberto Ventura , a Freshman from Brentwood, NY played for the SUNY Oneonta men's soccer team this fall.

The Red Dragons finished the season with an overall record of 15-2-3 while going 7-1-1 in the SUNYAC. The team won the SUNYAC Championship and earned the automatic qualifying berth to the NCAA tournament. In the NCAA tournament Oneonta hosted the first two rounds and advanced to its fourth straight round of 32.

Roberto played and started in 19 games for the Red Dragons as a first year player. Roberto had a team high 14 goals, six of which were game winners while also added four assists for a total of 28 points on the season. Roberto became the first men's player in the history of the SUNYAC to be selected as the Rookie of the Year and Offensive Player of the year. Ventura was selected as a First Team All-Conference and All-East Region performer while earning First Team All-America honors from the United Soccer Coaches.

SUNY Oneonta supports 21 varsity teams and is a member of the SUNYAC Conference while competing at the NCAA Division III level. The state-of-art athletics facilities include a field house and two field turf fields.
