Paige Kelly Receives Academic Achievement Award

Paige Kelly of Smithtown, NY, was one of 50 outstanding SUNY Oneonta seniors selected to receive a 2015 Academic Achievement Award this spring. Each academic department or program selected one to three outstanding seniors to receive awards.

Kelly received the Department of Educational Psychology, Counseling, and Special Education award.

To be considered for the award, a student must be a senior with a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 in his or her major and must demonstrate exceptional academic improvement over four semesters, as well as excellence in research; leadership and involvement in department, campus and community activities; and/or participation in an academic and/or professional situation outside the college.

Kelly has received the Kearney '48 Scholarship since fall 2011. She completed a special education program in Dublin, Ireland, during summer 2013. Currently, she is a campus tour guide, member of the Mentor Community, vice president of the Autism Awareness Club, and member of Phi Eta Sigma, Omicron Delta Kappa and O-FAN (Future Alumni Network). In the past, she has been a member of the National Residence Hall Honorary, secretary and treasurer of the Autism Awareness Club, Emerging Leaders Conference facilitator, VIP (Very Influential Peer) through the Office of New Student Services, leader for 3TL and a member of Base Group for the Mentor Community, Diversity Peer Educator, a member of the Association of Childhood Education, and a Student Disabilities Services note taker. She has attended SUNY Oneonta's Emerging Leaders Conference, Multicultural Conference and Harvey Delaney Leadership Institute.
