2014 May 13

Melissa Minerva of Dix Hills, NY, was one of 191 SUNY Oneonta students who presented original research and creative projects at the college's annual Student Research and Creative Activity Day on March 26.

Minerva worked with Toke Knudsen of the Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Statistics on a project titled "Origami in Math." Minerva was the primary presenter for the project. Minerva was also a co-presenter for a second project titled "Collections of American Mathematics Textbooks."

Created to recognize and promote undergraduate scholarship and creative activity, Student Research and Creative Activity Day has become the premier on-campus event for academic student exhibition. A total of 191 students, supported by 73 faculty sponsors, participated in this year's event, which featured presentations on a wide variety of topics across academic disciplines.
