Lauren Livolsi Honored for Commitment to Volunteerism at SUNY Oneonta

2013 Jun 21

Lauren Livolsi of Troy, NY, was among 45 SUNY Oneonta students who received Senior Service Awards recognizing their commitment to volunteerism. Seniors who completed at least 350 hours of service through the college's Center for Social Responsibility and Community (CSRC) were honored during a reception on May 17.

Livolsi logged 1142.5 hours of service working in health services and as a member of the Oneonta State Emergency Squad.

More than 20% of SUNY Oneonta students donate time to a local organization or cause through the CSRC. As a result, SUNY Oneonta contributes over 50,000 hours of service annually to nearly 100 nonprofit agencies in Oneonta and beyond. In recognition of the college's civic partnerships and service learning activities, the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching awarded SUNY Oneonta its Community Engagement Classification in 2011.

A liberal arts college with a pre-professional focus, SUNY Oneonta features outstanding and accessible faculty, students committed to academics and community service, exceptional technology, a modern field house and athletic facilities, and a beautiful campus. The college enrolls 6,000 students in its 70 undergraduate majors and 15 graduate programs.
