Julie Steinhauer honored by the SUNYAC

The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced that SUNY Oneonta junior Julie Steinhauer of East Syracuse has been selected as the Offensive Player of the Week.

In a week that saw Oneonta record three wins by shutout, and outscore its opponents 13-0, Steinhauer led the charge with three goals and a pair of assists. This past weekend, the Red Dragons secured a SUNYAC playoff berth after its wins against Buffalo State and Fredonia.

After being held in check against SUNY Poly last Wednesday, Steinhauer scored a goal and added an assist in a 5-0 win versus Buffalo State. She then tallied twice while adding an assist in Oneonta's 5-0 victory against Fredonia. Steinhauer registered both game-winning goals this past weekend.

Oneonta is currently 6-9-1 overall and winners of its last five contests. The Red Dragons earned the No. 5 seed for the upcoming SUNYAC tournament which begins this Saturday on the road at Potsdam.
