Jesus Santana Studying Abroad this Semester

2015 Jan 23

Jesus Santana of Bronx, NY, is one of 48 SUNY Oneonta students studying abroad this semester. Santana, a sophomore majoring in Mass Communications, is enrolled in a Lancaster University program in the UK through Binghamton University.

SUNY Oneonta offers exchange programs in Ghana, Ecuador, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Greece, the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan through the Office of International Education, plus a variety of short-term, faculty-led programs throughout the year. Oneonta students also have access to more than 600 study abroad and exchange programs through the SUNY network.

Santana was selected to receive the Dr. Warren and Mrs. Rita Wellman Scholarship, one of three special scholarships to support students who might otherwise not have the financial means to study abroad. Made possible through gifts from alumni, faculty, staff and community members, the College at Oneonta Foundation 30th Anniversary Scholarship, the Bill and Khuki Woolever Scholarship and the Dr. Warren and Mrs. Rita Wellman Scholarship are offered each year to qualifying students.

Scholarships and Global Connectedness are two of four campaign priorities for Possibilities Full of Promise, the 125th Anniversary Campaign for SUNY Oneonta.
