Jessica Fowler honored by the SUNYAC

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced that SUNY Oneonta sophomore Jessica Fowler has been selected as the Player of the Week in volleyball.

In a 4-0 weekend where the Red Dragons captured the team title for the Dig Pink Invitational, Fowler was a standout from the setter position. Oneonta only surrendered two sets in defeating Elmira, Bard, Baruch and Hartwick College.

In the opening match of the tournament, Fowler recorded 59 assists in a 3-2 win against Elmira. The 59 assists established a new single match record for the program breaking the old mark of 53 set back in 1997. Fowler has recorded 50+ assists five times this season and has collected 1,062 thus far. She is only the fourth player in program history to collect 1,000 assists in a season.

Fowler also leads the team with 51 service aces while being third with 192 digs.

The Red Dragons are currently 14-17 overall and play Tuesday at New Paltz in the quarterfinals of the SUNYAC tournament.
