To be considered for the award, a student must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 in his or her major and must demonstrate exceptional academic improvement over four semesters, as well as excellence in research; leadership and involvement in department, campus and community activities; and/or participation in academic and/or professional situation outside the college.

Dominianni earned membership in the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society and was a member of the Student Advisory Council for the School of Economics and Business. She also attended the Backpacks to Briefcases alumni networking event and the Emerging Leaders Conference. Dominianni was very active in Greek life, serving as president of the Inter Greek Council and the Order of Omega, Inter Greek Council scholarship chair, and community service chair and treasurer of Sigma Sigma Sigma; and planning events such as a walk to benefit the Special Olympics and a Halloween carnival for the children of Oneonta.
