Jeanna Michel of Swan Lake Studying Abroad this Semester

Jeanna Michel of Swan Lake, NY, is one of 34 SUNY Oneonta students studying abroad this semester. Michel, a junior majoring in Communication Studies , is studying at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in South Korea on a semester program through SUNY Oneonta.

SUNY Oneonta offers exchange programs in Ghana, Ecuador, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Greece, the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan through the Office of International Education, plus a variety of short-term, faculty-led programs throughout the year. Oneonta students also have access to more than 600 study abroad and exchange programs through the SUNY network.

Michel was selected to receive the Bill and Khuki Woolever Scholarship, one of three special scholarships to support students who might otherwise not have the financial means to study abroad. Made possible through gifts from alumni, faculty, staff and community members, the College at Oneonta Foundation 30th Anniversary Scholarship, the Bill and Khuki Woolever Scholarship and the Dr. Warren and Mrs. Rita Wellman Scholarship are offered each year to qualifying students.

Scholarships and Global Connectedness are also two of four campaign priorities for Possibilities Full of Promise, the 125th Anniversary Campaign for SUNY Oneonta.
