Jake Sweeney competes for SUNY Oneonta men's soccer team

Jake Sweeney, a Sophomore majoring in Economics from East Moriches, NY played for the SUNY Oneonta men's soccer team this fall.

The Red Dragons finished the season with an overall record of 19-3-2 while going 8-1 in the SUNYAC. The team captured its fourth conference title in the last five years while qualifying for the NCAA tournament for the fifth year in a row. In the NCAA tournament Oneonta advanced to its second straight national championship weekend, falling to the eventual national champion Amherst in penalty kicks in the semifinals.

Jake played in 22 games this season and started in seven of them. He scored one goal and added one assist for a total of three points.

SUNY Oneonta supports 21 varsity teams and is a member of the SUNYAC Conference while competing at the NCAA Division III level. The state-of-art athletics facilities include a field house and two field turf fields.
