Jaelynne Recchia participates in international marketing conference in New Orleans

Jaelynne Recchia of Brainard, NY, was among 40 SUNY Oneonta students who traveled to New Orleans recently to attend the American Marketing Association's 40th Annual International Collegiate Conference. Recchia is a member of SUNY OnMark, SUNY Oneonta's chapter of the American Marketing Association. The club was awarded 7th place in the "Chapter of the Year" competition out of about 400 colleges and universities.

Recchia is studying Liberal Arts and Sciences: Humanities and Social Science at SUNY Oneonta.

SUNY OnMark also received an honorable mention for the excellence of its website, and several members were chosen to speak about their quality in membership recruitment.

The American Marketing Association is a professional association for marketing professionals, with 30,000 members as of 2012. It has 76 professional chapters and 250 collegiate chapters across the United States.

Every year, more than 1,700 aspiring marketers gather for AMA's International Collegiate Conference for professional development, cutting-edge career advice, competitions, networking and fun.

SUNY OnMark is involved with fundraising, community service, professional development and promotion. The group is actively engaged in campus and community events, as well as career development opportunities. Students work closely with the Oneonta community to promote local businesses. They also work with other on-campus organizations and clubs, helping increase involvement among the general student population.
