Hans Purtell competes for SUNY Oneonta men's soccer team

Hans Purtell, a Senior from Johnson City, NY played for the SUNY Oneonta men's soccer team this fall.

The Red Dragons finished the season with an overall record of 16-7-1 while going 6-2-1 in the SUNYAC. The team played in the SUNYAC Championship game and received an at-large berth to the NCAA tournament. In the NCAA tournament Oneonta advanced to its third straight sweet sixteen.

Hans played in all 24 games and started in 23 this season for the Red Dragons. He scored seven goals, two of which were game winning, and added five assists for a total of 19 points. Hans earned honors as a First Team All-SUNYAC player while being named as a Second Team All-East Region player by the NSCAA.

SUNY Oneonta supports 21 varsity teams and is a member of the SUNYAC Conference while competing at the NCAA Division III level. The state-of-art athletics facilities include a field house and two field turf fields.
