Derek Johnson Presents Project at Student Research and Creative Activity Day

Derek Johnson of Ava, NY, was one of 191 SUNY Oneonta students who presented original research and creative projects at the college's annual Student Research and Creative Activity Day on March 26.

Johnson worked with Willard Harman of the Biological Field Station on a project titled "Panther Lake's Unique Cyanobacterium, Gloeotrichia echinulata ." Johnson was the primary presenter for the project. Johnson was also a co-presenter for a second project titled "2013 Student Facilitated Research at the Biological Field Station."

Created to recognize and promote undergraduate scholarship and creative activity, Student Research and Creative Activity Day has become the premier on-campus event for academic student exhibition. A total of 191 students, supported by 73 faculty sponsors, participated in this year's event, which featured presentations on a wide variety of topics across academic disciplines.
