Dana Del Genio honored by the SUNYAC

The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced that SUNY Oneonta sophomore Dana Del Genio of New Hartford has been selected as the Player of the Week. Del Genio earns the honor after a tremendous week at the plate for the Red Dragons.

Del Genio had a solid week offensively for the Red Dragons. In 10 games, she hit .394 and collected 21 total bases to slug .636. She smacked a pair of home runs and drove in a team high 10 runs while scoring eight runs.

Del Genio is hitting .359 after the first week of the season. She is tied for the team lead in runs batted in with 11 while leading the team with her two round-trippers.

Oneonta completed its Florida spring trip 10-2 overall. The Red Dragons are scheduled to play its first games up north this coming Saturday at Muhlenberg.
