Cory Santangelo earns postseason honors in soccer

Cory Santangelo from Sayvillle, NY, has earned postseason honors for his outstanding performance in soccer this fall for SUNY Oneonta.

The Red Dragons completed 2014 with a 21-1-2 overall record while finishing 8-0-1 in the SUNYAC Conference. The team won the SUNYAC title and qualified for the NCAA tournament for a fourth straight year. In the tournament, they advanced all the way to the national semifinals for the second time in four years.

Cory was selected as the SUNYAC Rookie of the Year this fall. He played in all 24 games this season and started in six of them. He was the leading scorer with 14 goals, five of them being game winning goals while adding two assists for a total of 30 points.
