Connor Chapman Receives Award for Academic Excellence

Connor Chapman of Clifton Park, NY, is the recipient of the college's Robert Caputo ’84 Scholarship Award, given each year to a student within the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. Chapman, who is pursuing a major in Meteorology, was honored at the department's annual Majors' Night in October.

Now in its 41st year, Majors' Night offers the department's undergraduates the opportunity to network with alumni who return to campus for the event, where they share their experiences and offer advice to current students.

The scholarship is made possible through the generosity of the Caputo family and alumni donors. It is dedicated to the memory of a meteorology graduate who died tragically while performing professional duties on the Hudson River. The award is given to students majoring in meteorology who have demonstrated superior academic achievement and/or service to the department.
