Christy Harasimowicz Selected to Present Paper at Literature and Composition Conference

Christy Harasimowicz of Jefferson, NY, was selected to present a paper at SUNY Oneonta's sixth annual New Critics: Undergraduate Literature and Composition Conference on Saturday, April 11.

Harasimowicz, who is majoring in English at SUNY Oneonta, will present a paper titled “Race and Gender as Oppressive Forces in Faulkner’s 'Go Down, Moses.'”

Students from 10 colleges and universities will present their scholarly work in 25 sessions at the conference, which will feature a keynote address by acclaimed critic and Guggenheim Fellow Dr. Daniel Mendelsohn. Mendelsohn's lecture, "Too Clever by Half: Smart Characters and Dumb Mistakes in The Odyssey," will close the daylong conference at 4 p.m. in the Craven Lounge of the college's Morris Conference Center.
