Cheyenne Pommelle Elected to Foundation Board

Cheyenne Pommelle of New York, NY, was elected to the College at Oneonta Foundation Board of Directors at the April 14, 2017, board meeting. All terms begin in June 2017.

Pommelle is a biology major and a member of Associate Professor of Biology Florian Reyda’s undergraduate research group. She presented parasitology research at the college’s 2017 Student Research and Creative Activity Day. Outside of the classroom, she is involved in SUNY Oneonta’s Students of Color Coalition, hall government and Xclusive dance club, and she has served as a volunteer and presenter for the college’s Diversity and Leadership Conference.

The mission of the State University College at Oneonta Foundation Corporation is to raise and administer gifts and grants to enhance the academic status of the college through endowment, scholarships and institutional programs.

The Foundation is governed by a board of directors composed of alumni, current and retired faculty, students and friends of SUNY Oneonta. The Foundation's endowment and total assets are $53 million and provide more than $3 million annually for student research, faculty development, scholarships and numerous campus programs.
