Caitlin Dempsey Selected to Serve as Orientation Leader

Caitlin Dempsey of Hopewell Jct, NY, was selected to serve as a SUNY Oneonta Orientation Leader for the 2015-2016 academic year.

In addition to leading activities for new students and their parents during 10 summer orientation sessions, Orientation Leaders welcome new students into their new community by leading small groups, answering questions about the college and college life, and mentoring new students through the first few weeks of the semester. Orientation Leaders are selected through a rigorous application and interview process. They receive a stipend for their work.

SUNY Oneonta held three orientation sessions for transfer students in June. Freshman orientation began Wednesday, July 1, and will continue through July 21 in a series of six two-day sessions. The final orientation session of the summer will be held Aug. 27-28, four days before fall classes begin.

Dempsey is majoring in Early Chld/Childhood Ed (B-6) at SUNY Oneonta.
