Autumn Moore Studying Abroad this Semester

2016 Jan 27

Autumn Moore of Baldwinsville, NY, is one of 53 SUNY Oneonta students studying abroad this semester. Moore, a junior majoring in Communication Studies and Computer Art, is studying at Charles University in the Czech Republic.

SUNY Oneonta offers study abroad and exchange programs in Finland, Ghana, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, South Korea, Sweden and Taiwan through the Office of International Education, plus a variety of short-term, faculty-led programs throughout the year. Oneonta students also have access to more than 600 study abroad and exchange programs through the SUNY network.

Moore was selected to receive the College at Oneonta Foundation 30th Anniversary Scholarship, one of five scholarships established by the SUNY Oneonta College Foundation to support students who might otherwise not have the financial means to study abroad. Made possible through gifts from alumni, faculty, staff and community members, these scholarship are made available each semester to qualifying students.

Scholarships and Global Connectedness were two of four campaign priorities for the SUNY Oneonta Foundation's Possibilities Full of Promise campaign, which raised $13.6 million for student scholarships and travel, and faculty development. It also pushed the SUNY Oneonta endowment past $50 million, the largest endowment among all SUNY comprehensive colleges.
