Autumn Moore Receives Academic Achievement Award

2017 May 25

Autumn Moore of Baldwinsville, NY, was one of 54 outstanding SUNY Oneonta students selected to receive a 2017 Academic Achievement Award this spring. Each academic department or program selected one to three outstanding seniors to receive the award.

Moore received the Women's & Gender Studies Department award.

To be considered for the award, a student must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 in his or her major and must demonstrate exceptional academic improvement over four semesters, as well as excellence in research; leadership and involvement in department, campus and community activities; and/or participation in academic and/or professional situation outside the college.

A double major in communication studies and computer art, with a minor in women's and gender Studies, Moore was named to both the dean's list (3.5 GPA) and Provost’s List (4.0 GPA) for multiple semesters. As a teaching assistant in fall 2016, she helped to organize and facilitate a week-long collaborative series of campus presentations by difference classes on the topic, "Unmasking Masculinities." As a year-long intern with Health Educator Rebecca Harrington, she used her skills in graphic design and her commitment to Women's and Gender Studies to assist in campus campaigns around gender and sexuality issues.
