2016 Oct 21

Abigail Schwarzhans of Morris, NY, is one of 39 SUNY Oneonta students studying abroad this semester. Schwarzhans, a senior majoring in Chemistry with a biochemistry concentration, is studying at Universidad Veritas in Costa Rica.

SUNY Oneonta offers study abroad and exchange programs in Finland, Ghana, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, South Korea, Sweden and Taiwan through the Office of International Education, plus a variety of short-term, faculty-led programs throughout the year. Oneonta students also have access to more than 600 study abroad and exchange programs through the SUNY network.

Schwarzhans was selected to receive the College at Oneonta Foundation 30th Anniversary Scholarship, one of seven scholarships established by the SUNY Oneonta College Foundation to support students who might otherwise not have the financial means to study abroad. Made possible through gifts from alumni, faculty, staff and community members, these scholarships are available to qualifying students each semester.
