Abby Zulkosky Recognized for Community Service

2016 May 18

Abby Zulkosky of Oneonta, NY, was among the 39 members of the SUNY Oneonta Class of 2016 who received Senior Service Awards recognizing their commitment to volunteerism. Students who completed at least 350 hours of service through the college's Center for Social Responsibility and Community (CSRC) were recognized during a reception on May 13.

Collectively, these students volunteered more than 23,200 hours in service activities such as mentoring, tutoring, and working as an emergency medical technician.

Zulkosky received a certificate and pin for completing at least 350 hours of service.

More than 20 percent of SUNY Oneonta students donate time to a local organization or cause through the CSRC. As a result, SUNY Oneonta contributes over 50,000 hours of service annually to nearly 100 nonprofit agencies in Oneonta and beyond. In recognition of the college's civic partnerships and service learning activities, the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching awarded SUNY Oneonta its Community Engagement Classification in 2011.
